Pomegranate, notoriously difficult to eat raw due to its high number of
seeds but juice, eat it, mash it, do whatever you want with it, it's
the fruit of the moment but could it possibly help those suffering from
hidradenitis suppurativa?

I personally have found about a litre a day helps keep the abscesses away. To date it seems to have lessened (admittedly not stopped) their occurrences but perhaps where it most comes into it's own is when you have one.
I have found however it takes mammoth litre a day to get much of a result (and for the calorie counters amongst you embarassingly that’s more than a few, 440 to be exact) but what is it exactly about it? One thing I have notice is that it is extremely high in vitamin E (good for your skin) and vitamin C (good for the immune system) could a vitamin supplement do the same job for cheaper? I’m not sure. Incidentally a litre of this gives you whooping 200% your Recommended daily allowance (RDA) of Viamin E, A and C and whooping 400% your RDA on folic acid
Ps. Many pomegranate extracts are essentially ellagic acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellagic_acid ), which is largely a by-product of the juice extraction process, so only the good stuff will do I’m afriad, so dig deep into those pockets.
