Do baths help what a question, up until a few years ago I would have said definately the more experience amongst you will almost definately recommend getting to bath loaded with salt and yes the gentle easing of pain as you body weight is supported, so people even report that many abscesses come to head and burst shortly afterwards but there is contrary arguement too and i'm starting to side more with it
All baths contain bacteria and deep scrubing will only remove most it not all of it and whilst you pores are opened by the heat and warmth, the soothing feeling may also be casing the future ones to appear.
It is just a personal observation but since i have severly limited the number of baths i take (and replace them with showers, i hasten to add) i have noticed a decline in the number i have.

Hi I am new to this site, but not to HS. I have had it for over 20 years. I do the hot bath when I flare. I guess all I think of when I have a bad flare, is any kind of relief.I have thought of the myriad amounts of bacteria that exist in an average tub. But all fades in my search for some kind of lessening of the pressure pain.
